A Note from the Editor

Welcome to the new Dog Bytes format. The newsletter will now be completely online. This change has come about to facilitate a changed in editors. After almost 15 years of producing the newsletter I will be stepping down. Dave and Janeé Kemp will be taking over as the new editors.

While this change may seem sudden, it’s actually one I’ve been debating for a couple of years. I’ve been wanting to step down, but the software used for the former newsletters made it extremely difficult to find a new editor. Dave and Janeé offered to take over and learn about InDesign. But after some conversations, we decided that moving to an online format would be the best choice for an easy turn-over.and the future.

I sincerely appreciate all the support over the years and hope you will continue to support Dave and Janeé in their new endeavor.

Future Meetings

• The April Meeting will be held Sunday, April 13th at Carol Jansen’s house in Salem, OR. The meeting will include a talk by Barb Doolin, ERSA local coordinator about rescue and fostering dogs. The meeting will start at 12:30 p.m. Carol will be buying pizza and anyone eating can chip in to pay.
• The May Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 17th. Time and place TBD.
• The June Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 21st at Clackamas County Kennel Club. Time TBD.

Brags and Wags

•  Vanity Fair’s Malfeasence (Veep) earned his CGC on January 17, 2014 and his Beginner Novice title on January 19, 2014.  He is owned by Betty and Larry Schwartz.
• Oxbow’s Sweetheart of the Rodeo,  was WB, BOS at the Greater Clark County in December and then followed in January by going Best of Opposite at the WVESSA Supported Entry sweeps at the Rose City Cluster. Juliette is bred/owned/handled by Dave and Janeé Kemp.
• Oxbow’s Cowboy Crush was WD, BOW at the Linn County Shows in Albany, OR in February. Lovingly owned and shown by Dave and Janeé Kemp
• CH Oxbow’s Notorious, Grant, received good news regarding some health checks. He was OFA Good, elbows normal and passed his PRA certification. Grant is owned and shown by Dave and Janeé Kemp.
